Ice Cream for Breakfast!

While we were in Gainesville, I was blessed to meet an amazing woman named Rebecca Tillman. I think I have probably talked about her some on the blog before, but she was by far one of the most amazing women I have ever had the privilege of knowing. Rebecca's two year old son, Ethan, passed away suddenly two years ago. I didn't know Rebecca except in passing at the time, but she was part of my small group at MOPS the next year and hearing her story and getting to know her was a huge blessing.

Anyhow, I did have a point I was getting to. On the anniversary of Ethan's passing, Rebecca and her husband ask parents to have an "E", extraordinary, moment with their children. So, this morning, we celebrated a sweet little boy's short life with ice cream for breakfast!

Em didn't get to join in, but the girls thought it was about the neatest thing ever! Ice cream for breakfast? Has mom lost her mind?

9 Months,

My Little Em,
I cannot believe you are nine months old! It doesn't seem possible that we are approaching your first birthday. Well, it has been about three months since I did one of these letters to you and you have changed SO much!

You finally learned to roll over right before you turned seven months. Once you figured that out, you started working on figuring out crawling. It took you about a month, but you finally got yourself moving forward (after a couple weeks of very frustrated backwards movement!). Then, you just took off! Once you knew how to get yourself moving, you went everywhere. And, that's what you're up to these days, exploring everything. You get yourself into a lot of trouble finding things to try to eat. You're also pulling up really well and don't expect it will take you too terribly long to figure out you want to walk.

Now that you're mobile, you have even more fun with your big sisters. They love you so much and are a little rough on you, but you are slowly learning to be tough and tolerate their love. You are still a mommy's girl, but you did great getting left with Grammy for a few days. I was so proud of you!

I love you Em!

Sink Baths!

So, I had a brilliant remembrance today. Emma needed a bath and I didn't feel like putting her in the big tub with the girls. I was just going to put it off until she get really gross (come on, she is my third, we kind of let a lot slide), but then I spotted the sink! I had a wonderful flashback of bathing Lily in my in-laws' sink! So, in Emmie went. Once she got over the initial shock of being washed right along side the dishes, she LOVED it! We'll definitely be doing this again :)

Farm Pics

Nathan is out of town getting sedation certification (sounds fun, right?), so the girls and I decided to head out to the Palataka house with Grammy. I had gotten the girls these really cute little dresses, so we decided to take some pics. These are my favorites. Not all of them are great photos, technically speaking, but I love them.

Some cheeseball shots specifically requested by Lily. Such a nut!

Emmie was snoozing away while I was taking pics of the girls. We finally decided to go and wake her up. She was all snug as a bug in a rug wrapped up in her blankie...

!

Emma was not so thrilled to be up there. Check out Lily's face! "Why are you handing me a screaming baby???"

We had so much fun taking these pictures! We'll definitely be heading out to the farm again this summer. Thanks Grammy and Miss Robin for all your help wrangling this bunch!
