Lots of Random Fun Stuff

I have a bunch of random pictures that I figured I would post...seeing as some of you like to get on my case (Mom) if I don't post pictures like every 3 days! So, this should hold you over for the weekend :)

First up, we have Ava "Shades" Nemecek. Not the best picture, but she was just so pleased with herself in her sunglasses. She kept running back over to me asking me to put them back on her...after she had pulled them off, of course! She is actually walking around in them right now, too. She really thinks they're neat.

Next, we have the lovely Ava modeling with the blanket I had to tape up over the girls window to stop all the freezing cold air from coming in and turning them into popsicles in the middle of the night...ah, the joys of student housing...Lily loved the blanket, though, she told me I made her bedroom into a fort.

Then, she decided to climb on top of their toy-chest and we had a little impromptu photo session with Tolee (sp?) the Koala (yes, like the koala on Kai-Lan). Oh, and don't you love the scribble on the wall that is there from before Ava was born...

The next picture is kinda nasty looking, so let me explain that it is not any sort of bodily fluid. It is one of those window gelees that melted...I think it used to be a heart. Anyhow, we had gotten some new ones from Target and when we went take off our old ones, quite a few of them had melted. Bummer. Lily did have a lot of fun putting up her new ones, though!

A bath picture...I can never resist bath pictures..although, I wish I had washed Ava's face first...

We went to playfground yesterday and I got some really cute ones of the girls.

Lily is keeping an eye on the squirrels...she has developed a paralyzing fear of squirells...and worms...

Kind of an up the nose shot, but I liked it none the less.

Peek-a-Boo!

Peek-a-Boo, too!

She is getting so stinking big!

So is she!

Where's Ava?

And, of course, Lily wanted her picture peeking through the bench (well, over the bench in her case).

I love this one. Her big bright eyes, her cute little smile (that is her real smile, not a cheesey camera one).

So serious!

I can reach the sky!

I really like this one of her, too...

Sweet Baby Face...messy, again, though...

Finally, I have some videos of Ava sliding. It is a new talent she has discovered and she has so much fun! The second one is a little jumpy, but it is pretty funny.

Madison's Birthday Party

Yesterday, we went to Lily's best friend's , Madison, birthday party. It was so much fun! The weather ended up being beautiful out and all the kids had a great time! The party was at Possum Creek Park (one of the local parks that we go to a lot).

Oh, this first picture is Ava in the car before the party with three cookies stacked on top of each other and shoved in her mouth. You can't see it super well in the picture, but it was really impressive!

Madison and Lily peaking out of the tunnel at the park! What silly girls!

Ava had more fun sitting on the stepping stones at the park. I think it made her feel grown up (although the bigger kids kept pushing her off).

Ava doing the rock wall (with the assistance of Daddy!).

She really loved those stepping stones!

Madison giving Ava a kiss. She is such a sweet little girl!

Lily and Madison hamming it up for me. They both are so used to having their pictures taken that they will sit there and pose for you until you get the picture you want!

Some of the balloons from the party got whisked away into a tree. I jokingly told Lily she was going to have to climb up the tree and get them...she took off running and was all about climbing up the tree! Guess she is a little young to joke with about such things as of yet, huh?

Kim (Madison's mom) brought some bubble for the kids to play with and chase. It was so funny while they were doing these. They started out with about four kids and it slowly grew until half the kids at the playground (from the 3 birthday parties that were going on) ended up chasing the bubbles.

The birthday girl checking out her cake. How cute its that shirt? Oh, the party was a Little Einsteins theme, by the way.

Here she is thoroughly enjoying that cake. And, Kim was so smart, she got these little ice cream cups! Genius! No one had to scoop!

Ava got a juice box at the end of the party. She is so funny with these things. She tends to suck them down in about 15 seconds flat!

Everyone had a great time! Today is Madison's actual birthday, so we want to wish her a very happy day and hope she has a great time celebrating with her family!

New Blog Look

Okay, so I have changed the blog bunches (yay, for finally getting to play with Photoshop!), but I need some feedback. Is it loading slow? Hard to read? Please let me know if you experience any issues with it!

Ava Learned to Take Off Her Diaper...

...and smeared it all over her crib...and...ate some. Lovely.

Indoor Fun and Some Super Cute Craftiness

The girls have been going absolutely stir crazy (I'm not much a fan of the cold we've had), so we decided to try something fun today to distract them from making huge messes... yeah, that didn't work, but they did have fun! We built a fun little fort out of kitchen tables and a bunch of blankets! Lily had a blast with it. Ava whacked her head a bunch. She didn't seem to understand that she was just a little too tall to stand up under the table, but she still had fun.

Oh, and I also wanted to show the cute little gift set I made for Lily's friend, Madison. Her birthday is tomorrow (and I will hopefully have one more doughnut by then to make it and even 1/2 dozen). Although it is far from perfect, I am so pleased with how it came out! I wish I had been able to find some little cupcake buttons to put on the apron, but alas, I could not :( I think I am going to make another set for a friend whose birthday is next weekend and probably one for Ava for her birthday or Christmas (I know, it's a ways away, but I need to get a jump on it this year so I can actually do all the projects I want to do!).

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Conversations with Lily

In the car yesterday, we were talking about how Olivia the pig can talk in her show, but pigs cannot talk in real life. That was then followed by this conversation:

L: Mommy, fish can talk in movies.
M: Yep, Lily, they can, but not in real life, right?
L: Well, fish will be able to talk when our world becomes a movie.

Where does she get this from? "Our world"? Really?

Valentine's Day Fun

We had a pretty relaxed V-Day weekend. Nathan came down with some sort of the sickies. He says it's the flu, I really hope not because while the girls have flu shots, I do not...Anyhow, due to the sickies, we had a pretty mild weekend. Lily and I did some baking Friday night. We made Rice Crispy Treats with some pink and red sugar on top (I know, just what those need, sugar on top).

We also made Cookie Brownie, which I think we are going to rename Death to Diets, because they are pretty much a combination of every sweet there is. I am going to post to recipe here, too, because, well, they are super yummy! But, eat them in small pieces because they are super sweet, too!

Yes, that is brownie batter with lumps of cookie dough in it. You then cook it and put icing on top...wow. If I make this again I think I will forgo the icing. It really doesn't need it. Anyhow, here's the recipe if you need a sweet fix!

On Saturday, we got up and exchanged some small gifts. The girls gave Nate some chocolate covered cherries and we gave them some little Barbie dolls and a little tea set. So fun! Ava loved the Barbie and Lily made us have a tea party later in the day!

Also, my mom sent the girls some super fun toys. She got Lily this super cute Fairy outfit and sent Ava a cute little Glo Worm doll. She also got them both some little plants to grow and the growing wash cloth things.

Hope you all had a great weekend and Happy Valentine's Day!
