The Fountain of Youth

I've been wracking my brains trying to think of some new places to take pictures for the calendar we give out for Christmas every year. Well, Mandie suggested we try out the Fountain of Youth. Turns out St. John's County residents get in free (who knew?)! So, we got the girlies dolled up and headed out there to take some pictures and walk around. It was SOOO much fun and the pictures turned out awesome!

All three of the girls thought this tree was just about the best thing ever. We had to practically drag Lily out of it and I think Em would have been content to sit all prim and proper on one of those branches all day long!

After our pictures were taken (and Emma had thoroughly covered herself in dirt), we went to check out some of the reinactors (I'm not sure that is even a real word, but I don't know what else to call the folks that traipse around St. Aug in the old timey get ups). The girls learned that it took the average person a year's wages to buy a mirror as big as the one below. And, they got to smell some yummy spices and carry water buckets. Emma met a lovely little pig. Great fun was had :)

After all our posing and learning about the olden days, we decided it was time to head out. Miss Mandie and I got a little distracted by the chocolate covered bananas and cheesecake on a stick (best thing ever, btw), so the girlies ended up with most enormous push pops I have ever seen. They were at least 18 inches long and it was hilarious watching Em try to eat a popsicle almost as big as she is!
