My Sweet Little Bean,
It does not seem possible that you are one year old already! Where did that year go? Emmie, we brought you home during one of the most stressful times in our lives. And, wow, you were something! You decided from day one that you were not going to just be like your sisters. You had your own little personality and you turned my world upside for a little while there.
We struggled through trying to nurse, trying to get you to sleep in your own bed, and trying to let ANYONE other than Mommy hold you. But, we made it girlie! And, the light in your eyes whenever you looked at me during those hard times made it all worth it.
You slowly grew to tolerate and then adore your big sisters. You are always in the middle of whatever they are doing now. I love seeing you play with them. You give them big open mouth kisses every once in a while and it is such a wonderful thing to see. They love you so much, too. You and Ava frequently sneak into the kitchen and get into snacks together. I can see the two of you being big trouble very soon! And Lily makes you laugh. You laugh so hard at everything she does. She is also super protective of you!
You talk a LOT! Your only real word so far is, "Yeah." Everything is, "Yeah." Your sisters love to ask you questions like, "Am I cool?" or, "Is so-and-so awesome?" just so you'll answer, "Yeah." Other than that you just tell us all kinds of stuff! If only we spoke your language, I know you must have some really important stuff to tell us!
We have started to call you Little Butter Bean, because you are such a little eater and you are starting to chunk up quite a bit (which is a really good thing since you're only one, so don't be offended!).
Sweet Emmie, I can't wait to see you grow and learn to talk so we can finally know all the important things you have to tell us! Happy Birthday, Little Bean!
