Swing Park

We headed out to Swing Park today with Nana and Poppy. It was a beautiful day. I didn't get pictures of the other girls because, well, when Emma wasn't swinging I was holding her! So, here are some fun ones of Miss Em enjoying her swing!

Cupcake Night

We had Miss Mandie, Dean, and Mya over tonight for some bad for us food and cupcake baking! Mya brought her little cupcake maker thing. It was so neat an the girlies obviously had a BLAST! Not sure my kitchen will ever be the same again...

Old Florida Museum Fieldtrip

Today, we got to go on a field trip with Lily's school to the Old Florida Museum. It was a really fun and interactive museum and one of the few tourist attractions in St. Aug that I hadn't been to.

First, the kids got to learn all about the Timucuan Indians. They got to hold tools, toys, furs, and jewelry that were made the same way the Indians made them. They all really loved feeling the different animal pelts.

Then, they got to experience what life was like for the Timucuans. They got their faces painted, ground maize, worked on hollowing out a canoe, threw corn darts, got to use Timucuan gardening tools, and practiced their Indian yells.













After lunch, we headed over the the Spanish settlement where the kids were able to learn about the lives of the early Spanish settlers in Florida. They got to make candles, wear and old Spanish helmet, use Spanish tools, build a reed fence, grind corn, play games, and grind oyster shells to make concrete.










All three of them had a great time (yes, Emmie was there, but she is not in any of the pics because I had to hold her the whole time). It was a really good museum for a little kid. Definitely recommend checking it out!

The Pixie Cut

This is what I found on our living room floor yesterday. The house had gotten quiet and I looked over and asked sweet little Ava what she was doing. She had a pair of scissors. I thought she had been cutting her pretty dress and quickly called her over so I could see the damage. It wasn't until she got close that I realized it wasn't her dress that she'd been cutting...

Lots of tears ensued when I told her she was probably going to have to get a short hair cut. I don't think we'll have this problem again...

The damage was pretty bad and the girls are supposed to be flower girls in my cousin's wedding in a couple months, so this morning we called up Miss Kym to beg for an appointment to get it fixed up. Of course, I had to document Ava's cut, first. She wasn't too pleased about the whole thing.




We went to dollar store and got some treats for after her cut. She sat so still the whole time with the look on her face that was just too funny. She was NOT pleased. The cut turned out really cute and I think she'll adjust to it. We keep telling her she looks like Tinkerbell, now, because she has a "Pixie" cut.
